Constitution of Board

Odisha Labour Welfare Board has been constituted on dtd. 21.05.2016 and reconstituted on 13.08.2021. 

Nodal Department: (Labour & ESI Department, Odisha)

• Chairman - Hob'ble Minister, L & ESI, Odisha  
• Vice-Chairman - Principal Secretary, Labour & ESI Department, Odisha
• Member Secretary-cum-Welfare Commissioner - Labour Commissioner, Odisha

Beneficiary: 

• Employees working in factories, motor transport undertakings. 
• Employees working in shops and commercial establishments, Charitable trusts and registered societies (employing 20 or more employees) 
• Contributor employees under the Odisha Labour Welfare Fund Act, 2005

Implementation:

The Act prescribes for collection of dues/ contribution from employers and employees and to provide for welfare of employees and their dependants by utilising the fund.

District Labour Officers, Assistant Labour Officers and Rural Labour Inspectors have been declared as Inspectors under the Odisha Labour Welfare Fund Act, 2005. Presently, the activities of the Board is being carried out by utilising the fund collected from the employers and employees contributions deposited in Odisha Labour Welfare Fund.
